Trade licence

A trade licence is local. A city corporation, pourasabha or union parishad usually issues it — that varies by area. There is no single national site, and getBangla does not issue it. This page says who usually issues it, and how it differs from eTIN and VAT BIN.

  • Which papers are asked depends on the issuing authority. NID, a photo, holding-tax papers or a rent agreement, and a sketch of the premises are often requested. The list is not the same everywhere.
  • eTIN is the income-tax number from the National Board of Revenue (NBR). A VAT BIN is a separate VAT number. A trade licence replaces neither.
  • VAT on an invoice is a tax calculation, not a licence.
  • getBangla is an independent information site. It does not take applications or payments. Apply with the local body that issues the licence.

FAQ

Is there one national trade-licence site?

No. There is no national trade-licence website. The licence is issued locally. Use your city corporation, pourasabha or union parishad. Which one applies depends on the area.

Does a trade licence replace eTIN?

No. An eTIN is NBR’s income-tax number. A trade licence is a local business permission. One does not replace the other. See eTIN.

Can I apply on getBangla?

No. getBangla is an independent information site. It does not take applications or payments.

I am outside Dhaka. Are DNCC links enough?

No. The DNCC and DSCC links are for those two Dhaka city corporations. Outside that area, use your own city corporation, pourasabha or union parishad.
