bKash vs Nagad: which cash-out path costs less

The same ৳10,000 costs different amounts via agent cash-out, ATM or send-money. Use the calculator for the table; this article is when to skip cash-out entirely.

Comparing bKash and Nagad cash-out charges
Agent cash-out has its own fee. A shop payment is not that percentage; the app shows the charge.

1. Four paths are not one job

People search “bKash charge” expecting one number. There are four jobs: send money stays in a wallet, merchant payment settles a shop or bill, agent cash-out produces notes, ATM cash-out produces notes from a named machine. Each one has its own fee rule.

getBangla does not hold a wallet. The bKash/Nagad calculator uses rates that have been checked. Where a rate is not confirmed, it shows no figure.

Same amount, different jobs
PathWhat happensTypical fee
Send moneyE-money in another walletThat service’s own rule, not the cash-out rate
Make Payment / QRShop or billThe charge shown for that payment
Agent cash-outNotes at an agentDepends on the agent type
ATM cash-outNotes at a named ATMThe ATM rate, not the agent rate

2. A ৳10,000 sketch

Say you want ৳10,000 in cash from a standard bKash agent, with no special offer. The published rate is 18.50 per thousand, so the fee is ৳185 and the wallet is charged ৳10,185. That is only the standard agent. A current Nagad rate is not stated here, because it was not confirmed from Nagad’s charges page.

ATM is separate. Official bKash pages put BRAC Bank, City Bank and Q-Cash ATMs at 14.90 per thousand. That is not every ATM. If a shop takes QR, you are not paying this cash-out fee; the payment screen shows its own charge.

3. When to use which

Rent, supermarket tills and many utilities take QR or a merchant number. For large amounts, check Priority or partner cash-out in the app first — those offers beat the standard percentages in this article.

Inbound remittance is an FX product first. Read USD/BDT, then this fee table. Do not mix the two in one screenshot argument.

  • Need notes: compare agent vs ATM in the calculator.
  • Keep it digital: send money.
  • Paying a shop: Make Payment, not cash-out.

4. Avoiding scams

Never send an “agent fee” to a stranger’s personal number. Real agents collect inside the cash-out flow. Never say your PIN on a call.

Discard last year’s SMS short codes and Facebook “0% cash-out today” pages. The official app on the day you send is the authority.

FAQ

Is Nagad always cheaper?

No. Cost depends on the service, the channel, the account and the offer that day. A current Nagad rate is not stated here. Compare the two apps for the job you are doing.

Is cash-out the same as send money?

No. Send money stays digital. Cash-out produces notes and usually costs a percentage.

Can I withdraw here?

No. Only the official bKash or Nagad app.

Is Add Money in this table?

No. Bank-to-wallet Add Money is a separate tariff. The calculator covers cash-out, send-money and merchant pay.
