Bangla phonetic typer
Type Banglish (ami, bangla, tritiyo matra) and get বাংলা. Avro-style phonetic conversion with word suggestions in the browser — not Google Translate, and not an English–Bangla meaning translator.

Why this exists
“English to Bangla” is one of the most-typed queries in Bangladesh, but Google Translate already owns the dictionary and sentence-translation job. A phonetic typer helps people write native script from an English keyboard — a different, genuine task: filling a form, drafting an SMS, labelling a Bangla date.
- Try: tritiyo matra → তৃতীয় মাত্রা, or ami banglay likhte chai → আমি বাংলায় লিখতে চাই. Click a suggestion if the first word is not the one you want.
- Copy the output into Word, Gmail or a government form. Nothing is uploaded.
- For NID spelling disputes, the smart NID guide still wins over any typer.
What this will not do
- Translate a paragraph of English prose into Bangla (use a translator for that).
- Match every custom dictionary word in desktop Avro Keyboard — pick a suggestion when two spellings are possible.
- Store your text on a server — if the tab dies, copy first.
FAQ
Is this Avro?
It follows Avro Phonetic rules and a local word list for suggestions. It is not the official Avro Keyboard desktop app.
Is this Google Translate?
No. Translate converts meaning between languages. This maps keystrokes to বাংলা letters.
Does it work offline after load?
The mapping runs in the page. A first visit still needs the site assets; we do not claim a full offline IME.
Can I type on a phone?
Yes, if the phone keyboard can send English letters. For daily mobile typing, a system Bangla keyboard is usually nicer.
