Same grade, three postings
This model’s grade 9 starting basic is ৳22,000. Medical is a flat ৳1,500 in the sketch; only the house-rent percentage changes with the posting.
- Dhaka (50%): house rent = 22,000 × 50% = ৳11,000
- Other city corporation (45%): house rent = 22,000 × 45% = ৳9,900
- Other area (40%): house rent = 22,000 × 40% = ৳8,800
Gross sketch in Dhaka ≈ 22,000 + 11,000 + 1,500 = ৳34,500. The basic never changes with posting; only the house-rent line does.
Who this is for
Job circulars quote a grade. This page turns “grade 9” into a taka sketch so you can compare households — not so you can argue with accounts. Cadres (police, teachers, health) still have extras in their own orders.

Is this my actual take-home?
No. GPF, tax, welfare and festival bonus change the net. Use it as a grade-to-gross sketch.
Is this the same as the private salary calculator?
No. That tool models NBR tax on a private gross. This one starts from NPS 2015 basics.
Does grade 1 mean the highest pay?
In the 2015 table used here, grade 1 has the highest starting basic. Confirm your service’s numbering if a circular uses another label.
Do I need an eTIN on this salary?

Is there a new pay scale for Bangladesh government employees?
This calculator is built on the National Pay Scale 2015. A new scale only applies once the Finance Division gazettes it. Until this page is updated, treat the figures as the 2015 scale and read the latest circular for anything newer.
