National University (NU) guide
NU honours, degree and masters results use a 4.00 CGPA scale — not the SSC/HSC 5.00 GPA. This page explains that difference, how a semester result is combined, and points to official NU channels for notices.

Overview
National University affiliates a very large number of colleges across Bangladesh. Programmes (honours, degree pass, masters, professional) have their own syllabi and exam calendars. Those calendars change; this page does not invent a date.

How CGPA accumulates across years
Credit-weighted average, in general terms
CGPA = (Σ course grade point × course credit) ÷ Σ course credit
- A 4-credit course pulls the CGPA more than a 2-credit course, unlike SSC/HSC where each subject usually counts once.
- Year-wise or semester-wise CGPA on the marksheet is a running average, not a fresh restart each year.
Results and documents
- Use NU official result / student portals — Start from nu.ac.bd or the result page the university publishes that session. College Facebook pages are not the result system.
- Keep registration, college code and session handy — Wrong session or college code is the usual “result not found”.
- Convert CGPA to a percentage only if a form asks — Use the CGPA to percentage converter — do not mix it with SSC/HSC 5.00 GPA.
- Read CGPA as credit-weighted — A 4-credit course moves the CGPA more than a 2-credit course.
- Admission into NU colleges — Honours/degree admission circulars are yearly. See university admission for the wider public-university picture.
- Keep every semester/year marksheet — a missing one can delay the final transcript request.
- If a subject shows “incomplete” or a withheld result, contact the college examination section, not just the NU helpline.

FAQ
Can I put NU marks into the SSC GPA calculator?
No. Different scale and no 4th-subject bonus of that kind.
Does one bad semester ruin the whole CGPA?
It lowers it, but the effect depends on that semester’s total credits relative to your whole programme — a small-credit semester weighs less than a large one.
