Math formulas, Class 6 to 10
Open the page for your class and look up the formulas used in NCTB secondary maths — fractions and mensuration in Class 6, through to trigonometry and higher maths in SSC. These are revision sheets, not a replacement for the textbook, the official syllabus or a worked example.

Class 6
Lower secondary
Class 6 maths lays the base for fractions, percentages, simple equations and mensuration. Memorise each formula with one worked example of your own so Class 7 and 8 feel lighter.
Class 7
Lower secondary
Class 7 adds integers, algebraic expressions, profit and loss, and simple interest. In word problems, substitute into the formula and show every step.
Class 8
Lower secondary
Class 8 exponents, square and cube identities, and mensuration underpin Class 9. Apply each identity to a problem; memorising alone fails in the exam.
Class 9–10 (SSC)
Secondary
SSC general maths is for every group. Higher maths for the science group sits in its own topics. Prove the theorems yourself and time the creative problems.
How to use these formula sheets
A formula is useful when you can put numbers into it and explain each letter. It is wasted when you only recopy the line. Open your class page, find the topic, then go back to the textbook exercise behind it.
- Start from the book in your bag — Match chapter names with NCTB and your school. If a formula is not in this year’s syllabus, skip it.
- Open your class page — Use the class cards above. Class 6, Class 7, Class 8 and Class 9–10 (SSC) each have their own list. On SSC, switch to higher maths if that is your optional paper.
- Write one worked example under each formula — Copying the line is not revision. Substitute values, show the steps, and keep the mistakes in a separate notebook.
- Use the exam suggestion for what to practise first — Formulas tell you how; the class-wise suggestion tells you which chapters to spend extra time on.
What is on each class page
Class 6
HCF and LCM, fractions, percentage, simple equations, perimeter and area.
Class 7
Integers, linear equations, profit and loss, simple interest, triangles and circles.
Class 8
Exponent rules, square and cube identities, Pythagoras, cube, cuboid and cylinder.
Class 9–10 (SSC)
Sets, logs, quadratic formula, trigonometry, mensuration, plus higher-maths identities for science.

FAQ
Are these the official NCTB formulas?
They follow the usual NCTB secondary structure, but they are a revision sheet, not a gazette. If a line in your textbook or the current syllabus differs, use that line.
Is higher mathematics included?
Yes, on the Class 9–10 page. General maths is for every SSC group; higher maths is the science optional. Filter the page if you only need one of them.
Do I need Class 8 formulas in SSC?
Often yes. Identities, Pythagoras and cylinder formulas from Class 8 still appear inside Class 9–10 problems. Keep that page bookmarked.
Where are the exam suggestions for maths?
Priority chapters live on the suggestion pages, subject by subject. Use both: suggestion for what to practise, this page for the formulas those problems need.
