SSC (Secondary School Certificate) guide
How SSC grading and GPA work, what group-wise subjects usually look like, where people check a result, and what to do about re-scrutiny or a marksheet problem. Exam dates and result days are not published here — those belong on board notices.

Overview
SSC is the secondary public exam under the general education boards (and equivalent Dakhil under the madrasa board, O-Level under some English-medium routes). Results are letter grades and a GPA on the 5.00 scale described on the GPA calculator.
Groups (Science, Humanities/Arts, Business Studies) share the same 5.00 grade table but have different compulsory subject lists — a science student’s divisor is usually not the same count as a humanities student’s.
SSC/HSC board grade scale
| Marks | Grade | Point |
|---|---|---|
| 80–100 | A+ | 5.00 |
| 70–79 | A | 4.00 |
| 60–69 | A- | 3.50 |
| 50–59 | B | 3.00 |
| 40–49 | C | 2.00 |
| 33–39 | D | 1.00 |
| 0–32 | F | 0.00 |
Result and marksheet
- Wait for the board notice — Publication day is announced by the ministry/boards. getBangla does not guess it.
- Use an official result site — Boards have used educationboardresults.gov.bd and related board sites. Confirm the URL on the notice that year.
- Enter roll, registration, board and year — Wrong board or year is the usual “result not found”.
- Recalculate GPA if you have grades — Open the GPA calculator and mark the 4th subject correctly.
- Collect the original marksheet from school/college — The online result is for checking; the paper marksheet and certificate come later through the institution.
- Re-scrutiny (khata challenge) windows are short and board-specific. Follow that year’s notice for the exact process and subjects you can challenge.
- A compulsory F means GPA 0.00 overall under the usual board rule, even if other subjects scored well.
- Next steps: HSC and later university admission.
Where people actually check an SSC result
| Channel | What you need | Note |
|---|---|---|
| educationboardresults.gov.bd | Exam, year, board, roll, registration | The usual web form. Confirm the URL on that year’s board notice. |
| Your education board site | Same identifiers | Some boards mirror the result on their own domain. |
| SMS (if announced) | Short code printed on the notice | Do not guess a number from an old year — boards change codes. |
| School / college | Admit card | For the paper marksheet and any withheld or incomplete result. |
Look up a result on the SSC result page. getBangla does not store the record. There is no URL that contains a roll number.

FAQ
How do I see the full SSC marksheet?
On the official result site for that year, with roll and registration. SMS short codes, if any, are printed on the board notice — not invented here.
Does the 4th subject work the same as HSC?
Yes on the standard 5.00 board method: bonus above 2.00, not added to the divisor.
What can I do if my marksheet shows the wrong subject or grade?
Report it to your school/college immediately; they typically forward corrections to the board within a limited window after publication.
